Welcome to Crash Course
Thanks for using Crash Course!
You're responsible for your conduct. You must comply with our Acceptable Usage Policy. Content in the Services may be protected by others' intellectual property rights. Please don't copy, upload, download or share content unless you have the right to do so.
We may review your conduct for compliance with these Terms and our Acceptable Usage Policy. That said, we have no obligation to do so.
Help us keep you informed. Safeguard your password to the Services and keep your account information current. Don't share your account credentials or give others access to your account.
You may use our Services only as permitted by applicable law, including export control laws and regulations.
Our Services are not intended for and may not be used by people under the age of 13. By using our Services, you are representing to us that you're over 13. If you really want to use our Services, ask your parents, guardians or teachers (they should be above 13, BTW) to write to us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will take their consent, create an account for both you and them, and they can monitor what you are learning, whom you are interacting with (and appreciate that you are genius too ;)).
Acceptable Usage Policy
Crash Course is designed for use by millions of students, and we are proud of what we've built. In exchange, we trust you to use our services responsibly.
You may use our Services only as permitted by law, including applicable export and re-export control laws and regulations. We may suspend or stop providing our Services to you if you do not comply with our terms or policies or if we are investigating suspected misconduct.
You agree not to misuse the Services or help anyone else to do so. For example, you must not even try to do any of the following in connection with the Services:
- interfere with our Services or try to access them using a method other than the interface and the instructions that we provide.
- probe, scan or test the vulnerability of any system or network, even if you are a security researcher;
- breach or otherwise circumvent any security or authentication measures, especially ruining some other user's experience on the platform;
- access, tamper with or use non-public areas or parts of the Services, or shared areas of the Services you haven't been invited to;
- interfere with or disrupt any user, host or network, for example by sending a virus or mail-bombing any part of the Services;
- access, search or create accounts for the Services by any means other than our publicly supported interfaces (for example "scraping" or creating accounts in bulk);
- abuse referrals or promotions to game our processes and get more incentives than deserved;
- sell the Services unless specifically authorized to do so;
You must also not promote or advertise products or services other than your own without appropriate authorization.
About the Software we Use and Create
As long as you comply with these Terms, we give you a personal, worldwide, royalty-free, limited, non-transferable, revocable, non-assignable and non-exclusive license to use the software provided to you by us as part of the Services. This license is for the sole purpose of enabling you to use and enjoy the benefit of the Services as provided by Crash Course, in the manner permitted by these terms.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our Services or included software, nor may you reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code of that software, unless laws prohibit these restrictions or you have our written permission.
When a Service requires or includes downloadable software, this software may update automatically on your device once a new version or feature is available. Some Services may let you adjust your automatic update settings.
Open source software is important to us. Some software used in our Services may be offered under an open source license that we will make available to you. There may be provisions in the open source license that expressly override some of these terms. For open source software that we use on our website (for example Bootstrap or jQuery, no explicitly license is included on the website. You may obtain a license copy from the project directly.)
Services in Beta
We sometimes release products and features that we are still testing and evaluating. Those Services have been and will be marked as beta, preview, early access, pre-enrollment or evaluation (or words or phrases with similar meaning) and may not be as reliable as Crash Course's other Services, so please bear that in mind. Also, we might choose to not launch the Beta Services (both private-Beta and public-Beta Services) to general public (in such cases, you will be eligible for a pro-rated refund.)

Privacy and Copyright Protection
Your projects that we feature on our website or as a part of our Services are totally owned by you. The content related to marketing communications created around your project is our property. In short, whatever you created, all code, comments and documents are yours. Whatever we create to feature that project and communicate to general public in general are ours.

We are constantly changing and improving our Services. We may add or remove functionalities or features, and we may suspend or stop a Service altogether.
You can stop using our Services at any time, although we'll be sorry to see you go. Crash Course may also stop providing Services to you, or add or create new limits to our Services at any time.
We believe that you own your data and preserving your access to such data is important. If we discontinue a Service, where reasonably possible, we will give you reasonable advance notice and a chance to get information out of that Service.
Our Warranties and Disclaimers
We provide our Services using a commercially reasonable level of skill and care and we hope that you will enjoy using them. But there are certain things that we don't promise about our Services. Even when such promises are made, there may be a certain cases which we might have ignored. Thus, all promises are to be treated to be fairly accurate barring certain very specific edge cases.
Other than as expressly set out in these terms or additional terms, neither Crash Course nor its suppliers or distributors make any specific promises about the Services. For example, we don't make any commitments about the content within the Services, the specific functions of the Services, or their reliability, availability, or ability to meet your needs. Refunds and Cancellations
Questions about refunds and cancellations should be addressed to email@example.com

We might take up to 30 business days to process such a refund and time taken for the funds to actually appear in your bank account or card depends on your payment processor and your bank. After 3 days (72 hours), no request for cancellations or refunds will be entertained.
If you are pre-enrolling, requesting for early access or buying our Services at a discounted price, you will not be eligible for refunds, unless there is a special agreement that makes you eligible for refunds.

If there is a conflict between these terms and the additional terms, the additional terms will control for that conflict.
These terms control the relationship between Crash Course and you. They do not create any third party beneficiary rights.

If it turns out that a particular term is not enforceable, this will not affect any other terms.
All disputes must be resolved in arbitration.
Our Services are very diverse, so sometimes additional terms or product requirements (including age requirements) may apply. Additional terms will be available with the relevant Services, and those additional terms become part of your agreement with us if you use those Services.
Modifications to These Terms
We may modify these terms or any additional terms that apply to a Service to, for example, reflect changes to the law or changes to our Services. You should look at the terms regularly. We'll post notice of modifications to these terms on this page. We'll post notice of modified additional terms in the applicable Service.
Changes will not apply retroactively unless explicitly stated and will become effective no sooner than fourteen days after they are posted. However, changes addressing new functions for a Service or changes made for legal reasons will be effective immediately. We reserve the right to decide the effective date of these Terms. If you do not agree to the modified terms for a Service, you should discontinue your use of that Service.
